Embjørg is almost 80 years old, and has been a milkmaid at Tesse Lake for the last 60 summers. She is still with us at the dairy, and for the last two she has taken on Ola and Hans as her “apprentices.” We are delighted to have Embjørg with us. She is one of the few who can help us continue the old mountain dairy traditions, as the last generation of farmers has unfortunately not been particularly good at preserving the traditions regarding the processing of milk.
Hans
Hans is the oldest male and thus inheritor of the farm. He is a chef, and was trained and inspired by the culinary school at Fossheim in Lom, where world-famous chef Arne Brimi was master. Given that his grandfather was a fiddler, it follows that Hans also plays the fiddle. Folk music has always been an important part of life at the mountain dairy.
Ola
Ola lives with Hans and is a mason by vocation. He has built most of the cheese house, and looks forward to putting it to use. After several courses in cheese-making there won’t be much time left over for bricklaying!
Marit
Marit is Ola's 10 year old daughter. She is responsible for all the animals and the keeping the barn clean and tiy. There sure is enough to keep her busy!!
